Projects

Education, memory, and leadership to defend human rights.

We currently focus our work on three main areas: training teachers and educators, human rights education (children from age 5, young people, and adults), and the play Voices from the Darkness, based on Kerry Kennedy’s book Speak Truth to Power, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of respect for human rights and justice. It has been staged in theaters around the world by professional actors, high school and university students, and representatives of public and private institutions. In the short term, we also want to develop projects related to immigration and programs that contribute to gender equality, among many other issues.

How we work

Learn, become aware, act, and transform.

  • Learning

Through the real stories of human rights defenders, to understand dignity and justice from lived experience.

  • Awareness

A global perspective that helps recognize human rights as a responsibility shared by the whole of society.

  • Action

Mindful and committed: bringing values into the classroom, onto the stage, and into the community to move from reflection to action.

  • Change

The ultimate goal: young people able to act and make a real difference in their surroundings and in the world.

Training

Teach Truth to Power

Our TTTP (Teach Truth to Power) program offers training to teachers and educators so they can deliver Speak Truth to Power, our human rights education program, at their schools. We provide the tools needed to implement the program and support them throughout the process; once it is up and running, we offer ongoing support.

Speak Truth to Power

Our STTP (Speak Truth to Power) program is available in Spanish or English and is designed for children from age 5, young people, and adults. It has been taught for several years in schools in Madrid, and we intend to implement it in other regions of Spain.
