Defending human rights for social justice

Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center, based in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit organization founded in 1968 by Ethel Kennedy, along with relatives and friends of Robert F. Kennedy, to promote a shared legacy of justice, peace, and the defense of human rights. Since then, the organization has driven programs in education, awareness, leadership, and civic action aimed at shaping generations committed to human dignity and to building more just and inclusive societies.

The organization was officially established as RFK Spain after several years of successfully developing the Speak Truth to Power program, an international educational initiative dedicated to human rights training and awareness. During this period, it worked in collaboration with various partners in Spain. In 2026, the entity began a new chapter and officially adopted the name Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center Spain, also known as Kennedy Human Rights Spain, expressly incorporating the legacy of Ethel Kennedy into its institutional identity.
