Statement from RFK Spain on the Situation in Ukraine
RFK HUMAN RIGHTS SPAIN strongly condemns the military invasion of Ukraine ordered by Vladimir Putin and calls for the immediate cessation of a completely unjustified aggression, which constitutes a flagrant violation

RFK HUMAN RIGHTS SPAIN strongly condemns the military invasion of Ukraine ordered by Vladimir Putin and calls for the immediate cessation of a completely unjustified aggression, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the international legal order and of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.
RFK HUMAN RIGHTS SPAIN demands full respect for human rights and, in this regard, we welcome both the opening of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of the Ukrainian civilian population and the investigation opened by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague into war crimes and crimes against humanity against Vladimir Putin.
Faced with this grave challenge that threatens peace and the rule of law in every democracy, RFK HUMAN RIGHTS SPAIN calls on the international community to intervene urgently through diplomatic channels in order to try to turn the temporary ceasefire into a permanent one.
RFK HUMAN RIGHTS SPAIN stresses that the absence of effective responses to put an end to attacks against freedoms, human rights, and their defenders fuels a culture of violence, war, and conflict.
RFK HUMAN RIGHTS SPAIN expresses its full solidarity with the Ukrainian people and supports the initiatives undertaken by international bodies in favor of peace and in defense of the rights of those affected by this wholly unjustified aggression.
RFK HUMAN RIGHTS SPAIN expresses its full support for the initiative approved by an overwhelming majority in the European Parliament on March 1, 2022, calling for Ukraine's fast-track accession to the European Union.
