RFKSpain - Conciertos de la Fundación Barenboim-Said

The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Spain Foundation took part, this December, in the concerts that the Barenboim-Said Foundation offered in Andalusia, as part of the Music for Ukraine campaign.

Both institutions share a powerful common mission: the defense of human rights and of education as a driving force for social development.

As it did in the previous edition, the RFK Spain Foundation collaborated as a sponsor in the concerts that maestro Nuno Coelho conducted with the Barenboim-Said Foundation Orchestra in Seville and Granada.

The concerts also featured the participation of the Russian-born pianist Denis Kozhukhin as soloist.

Through this collaboration, not only are institutional ties strengthened, but the will of both Foundations is enhanced to make visible the need for an education that promotes information about human rights, ensuring respect for diversity and pluralism. The concert was a spectacular success. Maestro Nuno Coelho masterfully managed the qualities of the orchestra, bringing out a great plastic sense of sound, full of poetry. The pianist Denis Kozhukhin shone, both technically and expressively, in his performance of Rachmaninoff's Concerto.

In the second half there was a true exhibition of quality from every section of the philharmonic ensemble. The Maestro became one with the orchestra and led it with an enormous richness of nuance.

For all these reasons, the concert became one of the most successful of 2022, and certainly the best finale to close the musical season in the theaters of Andalusia.

Many thanks to the entire team of the Barenboim-Said Foundation for their wonderful organization and support.
