Speak Truth to Power training with the Department of Education in Madrid

On February 17, 19, 24 and 26 we shared four Speak Truth To Power training sessions with a group of 27 excellent teachers from 13 different schools in the Community of Madrid, including some brilliant "Fulbrighters." It was a truly wonderful experience for us.

During the sessions we worked to bring human rights into the classroom in a practical, clear and creative way, with ready-to-use activities on equality, health, well-being and education, and with proposals designed to enable students to develop their own projects for a fair at the end of the academic year.

In addition, we adapted materials and approaches specifically to respond better to the reality of the group and of its students, and the result was even better than we expected.

Plenty of participation, great ideas and an excellent atmosphere from start to finish. We even closed with a small, unexpected live musical moment (at least for the teachers!) to highlight that teaching something as human as this is also about sharing personal creativity, interests and humanity.
