The Barenboim-Said Foundation with the Collaboration of RFK Human Rights Spain

Yesterday, at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, the three-concert tour that Maestro Pablo Heras Casado will give across Andalusia in December—with the Barenboim-Said Foundation and the collaboration of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Spain Foundation—was presented.

The tour will also feature Miguel Colom, Concertmaster of the Spanish National Orchestra, as soloist.

The event was presented by Patricia del Pozo, Regional Minister of Culture and Artistic Heritage of Andalusia, who highlighted the trust and generosity of the RFK Human Rights Spain Foundation in taking part in this project.

She also noted the importance of supporting these young talents by giving them the opportunity to perform musical works alongside great international masters.

Maestro Heras Casado recalled that he was born as a musician with the Barenboim-Said Foundation, and that he therefore wished to give back part of what he had received, and to show how the work of these musicians who come here to train bears undeniable fruit.

He also spoke about the importance of choosing the program, always seeking a good balance among the selected musical works.

María Díaz de la Cebosa, President of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Spain Foundation and of the international CIS University, said it is an honor for her to take part in this project, and that the Barenboim-Said and RFK Spain foundations share the same essence: the pursuit of harmony and the promotion of human rights through education.

She also noted that the alliance of the two foundations will help to create, through musical training and human rights education, an empowered and inspired citizenry, capable of building a more inclusive society that respects the individuality of everyone.

She closed the event by affirming that human rights are the heritage of all humanity, and that we must strive to ensure they are fully respected in every sphere.
